Mirror of Truth

When the truth becomes a mirror

Reflecting the inner turmoil and chaos

The vulnerabilities and the indecisiveness

Leaving one bare, at the mercy of truth

It becomes difficult to run away

From the innumerable reflections projected

Incisive truth rips through the covers

Hiding the weak spots, prone to excesses

Self-abuse and living in denial to garner sympathy

Life merely becomes a pale shadow

With a defensive armor, trying to counter every action

Debilitating lies corrode away the soul

One fine day, truth will hover as apparition

Following the deserted life and self-loathing excuses©

  1. Reading this I couldn’t help but think of a friend of mine who is stuck in the “deserted life” you describe, Amitav. It’s so painful for him, and it’s also painful for me to see him as I care deeply about him. However, each person is responsible for treading his/her own path. All we can do is to offer him/her our unconditional love and non-judgement. Warm greetings, always, Sam 🙂

    1. I can understand, Sam. It’s really unfortunate that you see your friend struggle and as much as you want to help him come out of it, you cannot. It’s painful for someone who really cares. You can only keep on supporting your friend and hope that one day he sees reason in your words and truly changes his life. I hope that your words and unconditional support help him get through the tough times. He should acknowledge the fact that he has you as a friend. 🙂 Sending you loads of best wishes and warm greetings, Amitav. 🙂
