If you realize you were not awake
The soul has been in slumber all this time
Pacing through life with a trance-like feel
Never have the true emotions surged above
Or breached the set boundaries of life
The morning through night, a futile journey
Only the body is awake, the soul is unaware
Heart beats mechanically to keep you alive
Noises drown you and you miss the plea
From your inner world, calling for help
Unknowingly, you walked away from yourself
Alienated the feelings and buried them deep
Every day, a chore to walk with a numb mind
Clamor for winning the race and hit a cul-de-sac©
Very nice Amitav!
