A Reflection

You claim to know yourself

Yet you fail to recognize the mirror’s reflection

Scrutinizing every contour of your heart

Let the hand feel every pore

Is the inner world still alive and breathing?

Your reflection that the mirror holds

Portrays the silhouette of the heart and soul

A yearning to ask about their feelings

When you have become distant over the years

Reluctant to share their feelings

Surprising to see the existence of parallels

Only comes face to face in front of a mirror

Now the realities of the void reflected with profoundness

Your distorted percipience pulled you apart

Further, the parallels see the divide widening

You exchange glances, afraid to meet the eyes

Mirror’s reflection is a stirring experience

Mixed emotions blend in a sudden rush

Stunned by the emotions evoked by a reflection©
