We Walk Alone

We walk alone

By choosing a certain path

Hands that held us as a child

Helped with the first steps

Wobbling and unsure feet

Yet, we walked after a few scrapes

Superficial bruises do not deter a child

Heals with time

The bruises, few remain as mementos

A reminder of a child’s bravery

One who has to walk further in life

Traveling between the physical and abstract

Vacillating between the dual existence

One has to find the way to balance

Few wild swings and feel the exhilaration

Of being conscious of another consciousness

A dual energy that helps us exist

This perception based on everyday images

There is another reality, in fact, more real than this

We walk alone

And find our way to navigate through life©
