Reflections on Glass Facades

Busyness is reflected on the glass facades

Synthetic dreams gleam under artificial lights

It’s considered a sin to indulge in sleep

At every hour, numerous reminders to hurry

Caged in a virtual world- life is replicated

Trying to vanquish the reality we deserve

Every possible path carefully designed-

They create a maze of life with misguided signs

Forever busy, entangled in tentacles of dreams

Freedom never gets a chance to express its feelings

Reflections on glass facades are enough to dazzle©

I lost my father at such a young age, that I thought deeply about how I wanted to live my life, not career but quality. This piece captures those ideas skillfully. I applaud you for getting all of us to think about these things.

    Beautifully done, Amitav!

    1. I wish society becomes more aware of the negative aspects of modern lifestyle. They fail to realize the implications and the various lifestyle diseases (which are acquired at a very fast rate in a young age). All have dreams, but dreams should make one happy and content. I feel people are not content easily, they want more. When needs are fulfilled we do not stop; we run after the wants. I try to put in some positive message and hope the best for global society. Thank you so much for your support, Tanya.
