Numbers confined in the calendar squares
Nervous stare to identify the nature of days
More than today’s concerns, eyes shift between yesterday and tomorrow
Measuring the effectiveness of present in their comparison
Eager eyes though assume tomorrow would be better
Such is the belief of that empty gaze and exhaustive calculations
Some days are special and marked in bold
Inadvertently, the discrimination between days are emphasized
In anticipations, the future is adorned in imaginations
‘What’s the agenda?’, asks the calendar in a ridiculing tone
Between the clock and the calendar, days are spent frantically
That illusionary bridge and the concepts keep life busy
Wish one could tease the numbers and manipulate further
Eternity laughs at the hectic calendar and myriad interpretations
So many questions just do not stick to the numbers

So true Amitav! We are definitely partial towards certain dates, for whatever reason. Now every time I see the calendar, I will be reminded of this beautiful poem.🙂
