The Night’s Wishes

Night wishes to be pardoned for the follies

Difficult eulogising it as the moon wanes

Keeping sleep away, and lovely dreams too

Secrets won’t be revealed by the busy time

Trying to decipher the confusion and settle

Dimmed lights, arrival of gloomy thoughts

There are no simple hymns to mollify life

It feels vacant, even the echoes fade away

Fear of vices creeping into this conundrum

Without sleep, the mind feels exhausted

Unable to discover timeless beauty of dreams

Uncertain, how far these writings will flow

This is not soothing silence, but worrying

Even those fabled wings are missing today

Those mysterious vistas cannot be explored

Suffering along with the witless night
