Waiting for a Sign

The wind has surprisingly lost its passion

Frail and dizzy, it trails through the boughs

Essence of melancholy stealthily floats across

Faint sighs reverberate through the landscape

Today, the day progresses with careless attitude

A suave Sun failed to inspire the day

Wind carries the burden of an untold message

With keen ears the traveler wanted to listen

Some feelings just seep in with reluctance

It’s time to welcome the twilight hours

Perhaps, night will narrate the deepest secret

Waiting for the night sky to light up with hope

The constellations may guide with some sign©

    1. Thank you so much. 🙂 It’s with ‘hope’ one waits for the messenger (wind) to deliver the message. The journey ahead can be planned by the sign of the universe (the constellations). Some days can be uninspiring and not according to our liking, then, with positive attitude, we can change the course of the journey. 🙂

      1. Right. A positive attitude may not lead us to our destination but it does make the journey a lot easier and takes us to the right place eventually (or so we end up feeling). 🙂

      2. Well, a destination is a stopover from where we have to decide the course of our journey. With clarity and a vision to seek a path in this journey, you have to trust life. Our decisions become synchronized with the pace of universe and thus, we feel the harmony and peace from this journey. Knowingly or unknowingly, we are in confrontation with life rather than being in harmony. Life is eternal, so there is no destination but only the way to seek more. 🙂

      3. I like that : “life is a way to seek more”. But I don’t see how we always have to be “in confrontation” with life rather than “harmony”. Can’t we achieve harmony by accepting everything life throws at us?

      4. Confrontations arise from insecurities, inner turmoil, indecisiveness and most importantly expectations (which are not necessarily natural ones, but to acquire status, money, etc.). Relationships too come with many expectations, which may drain the soul of energy. We are trying to tackle too may things at one time and thus, the confrontation.

      5. Hmm. Let’s, then, try to achieve harmony. Let’s stop expecting and fearing. Instead, let’s start accepting and braving. I feel that a soul which is in harmony with life is the one which is in harmony with itself.

      6. Acceptance of oneself, positive mindset to deal with the negativity around us and the inner harmony and clarity will lead to the blissful existence in Life. Once we learn to forgive and move ahead, life becomes simpler.

      7. Right. And i feel that forgiving and moving on are steps towards establishing harmony with life. Like Buddha did. Like Rumi taught. And like we try every single day.

  1. A beautiful poem of hope. Anticipation is palpable with desire. Images galore , keen ears, deep secret, constellations and reluctant feelings surface……
Suave Sun and careless attitude of the youth lingers in the twilight years…..
Better late than never sort of mood.
    Nice work through imagery.

    1. Yes, my friend, when the messenger (wind) is sometimes uninspired and late to deliver the message, it is only with hope one can wait. The constellations are a sign and if we read them carefully, we can plot the journey ahead. You have rightly pointed out the myriad mood of the protagonist.
I really thank you for sharing these interpretations. 🙂
